About me

Chef Itka was born in Atlantic City, NJ. As a child growing up she was introduced to all kinds of food, especially a wide variety of seafood. She was taught mainly by her grandma and mother on how to create certain dishes from old school to new, from soul food to creole as well as Italian and some desserts. It wasn't until her early 30's that she decided to pursue a career in the culinary field. Itka attended and graduated from The Academy of Culinary Arts at the Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing, NJ. Since then she's worked at numerous restaurants, colleges, hospitals and production facilities, as well as attended numerous culinary events as a voluntary lead at the New York Food & Wine Festival. Itka is very passionate and strives to bring a consistency of flavors and seasonings to every meal she makes.

Why I Cook

I cook to see the smiles and satisfying faces of people when they're enjoying my food. I love the challenges that each meal/dish brings. The vast flavors and uniqueness presented.
